I had a fantastic stay at Bishop St Hostel in California! The hostel had a friendly atmosphere and even provided bicycles for guests to explore the area. The free parking lot was a great perk for those with cars. One unique feature I loved was the Dr. Bronner's liquid soap/shampoo provided in the bathrooms; it was my first time using it and it felt incredibly soothing. The communal rooms and kitchen created a welcoming and homely environment. The hostel even offered homemade vegan dinners shared among guests. They had a great selection of books on the Sierra Nevada and East California, making it an ideal place for hikers. a cozy and well-managed hostel that I will definitely visit again!
Can recommend this hotel.

We had a great experience staying at a hostel in California. the staff and other guests were friendly and welcoming. the atmosphere was enjoyable, and we had access to various amenities like a shared kitchen and multiple bathrooms. the room was decent, although the blankets were a bit old. Nonetheless, the overall cleanliness was satisfactory. Parking was available as promised. Cons: Everything we needed and wanted was provided. 👍.

Thank you Hostel California! You're the best place for climbers to stay on a bouldering trip! Thank you for lending us your crash mats and the guide book! Love all the common facilities you have and we spent most of our time outside the room making friends and playing board games. As a bonus, having Jeff, Acorn, and Jack on a couple of days was the BEST! Acorn is easily the friendliest sweetest girl and absolutely loves playing with her. Thank you all for your hospitality, we loved our time at THC! P.s. I hope your strawberry seedlings grow up strong and well!
I do recommend this hotel.

Good location near Yosemite, convenient for a midnight pit stop. Fully stocked kitchen and long dining table for communal cooking and dining. Unique decor with old climbing gear and guide books.
Uncomfortable sleeping arrangements, noisy party going past 4am. Inadequate cooling system, room was hot and swamp cooler ineffective.

The atmosphere of the hotel had a great 1960's hippie vibe, which I really enjoyed. The manager was also very cool and welcoming.
The cleanliness of the hotel was extremely poor. I encountered fecal flecks in one of the toilets and the front lawn was overrun with dead weeds, completely different from the advertised picture.
